ARMANDO
Monday evening update on
Armando............
First of all , a huge thank you to all who have donated blood on
behalf of Armando. I will be back in Baja next week and that will be
at the top of my agenda. And yes, he needs two more surgeries
and needs MORE O neg BLOOD.
I just called Paulie's cell and Armando answered. That
was a first, as usually I only talk to Paulie. He was alert and much
more cohesive in conversation. He has another scheduled surgery,
maybe tomorrow, to fix his leg and knee. And possibly one more after
that. He has only positive comments about how the doctors are
putting him back together. Alex is much better. He is at his
grandmother's home in La Paz.
There seemed to be people talking in the background,
and he referred to them as his "harem", so imagine lots of family
are there. His sense of humor was good, and that is always an
encouraging sign. He was joking, saying he wanted me to come be his
nurse, and when he gets home there will be a "party".....but that
will not be for a while.
I have forwarded all your get well messages to Paulie,
and Armando has seen them all. He is grateful for all the good
wishes and words of encouragement from all of you and asks me to
send out a "thank you" to everyone.... he says he did not know he
had that many friends! He got a little emotional, trying to express
his gratitude to community and friends for all the support you have
shown.
