Does anyone know if the government is issuing senior cards to non nationals? We were about to get ours last spring and were told we had to wait until the elections were over. Must be up to the new administration to issue or not.  Thanks jeatte@hughes.net

FOOTBALL SEASON!!!  Hola Compadres! The start of the NFL season is just about upon us and that means we need to start gearing up for Smokey’s 6th Annual NFL Pickem’ Pool. It’s easy to join and play and you can log in from anywhere in the world each week and make your picks. The cost is $100 USD for the season. That is $5 USD per week for 17 weeks ($85) plus $3 per player that we pay the hosting website, and $12 left in the pot to be divided among the top three players at the end of the season. We pay winners out weekly in cash at the smokehouse or via check anywhere else. If there are 40 players, each week is worth $200. We make no money on the pool at Smokey’s. I do play personally but I think I may have won 2 weekly payouts in 6 years so I’m no ringer, I just like football. It’s just like an office pool each week among friends only we can be spread out all over heck. In fact, please feel free to invite other friends who may want to play by forwarding them these instructions on how to join. The pool fee MUST be paid in full prior to the start of the season.
     In a nutshell here is how the pool works this year. Once logged on players make their weekly picks. We pick winners only, no point spreads. BUT, players then rank the games between 1-16 with 16 being the game you have the most confidence in. Players also pick the total points for MNF for the purposes of a tiebreaker. If your team wins the game, you score the corresponding ranking. The player scoring the most points at the end of the week wins the weekly payout. All the rules are explained in more detail once you join the pool. The website we use is really cool and keeps track of everything each week and also for the season, its real easy to join and play. Feel free to inquire about the pool with me anytime at the smokehouse.
