Cheryl, Thank you for the kind words. Armando is home and the family
is all gathered around him. His spirits are high and his sense of
humor is as sharp as ever.
As per your question, I asked him if it was ok to give
out his e-mail and he said no problem, but for people not to expect
any answers for a while. He was doing tricks with a single
finger....wiggling it....scratching his ear and nose....and that is
the extent of it! Some folks sent me e-mails after reading the BPE,
and comments on Facebook. I cut and pasted them to Google translate,
then cut and pasted the translations on Facebook or Paulie's E-mail
.I do not mind
continuing doing that. But if some one would rather contact him

Today we stopped two Mexicans who had captured a
burro that hangs around on our road. They told us that they capture
them and kill them for machaka (sp). We love having these burros and
wonder if
anyone else is concerned. A few years ago we had eight burros that
came to our area and they ALL
disappeared. We don't know if the authorities can do anything about
this as these animals have no owners. These animals are
descendants from the ones that worked in the mines North of us as
well as the sugar cane farms in Santiago. We had also heard that
people from mainland Mexico want to come to the Baja to take back

a. This is very very wrong, This computer guy is actually
telling people to present this ID card to a police officer instead
of a driver's license... If one does that the officer will have the
right to fine the person for not having a driver's license...and it
is against the law not to show you drivers license to an officer who
is requesting it. For the benefit of all this should be said
on the BPE.

g. Seemingly there is a hornets nest
brewing over ID's versus driver's licenses. Of course, if you are
stopped by a legitimate policeman, you should present the required
documentation. On the other hand, if you are stopped by someone
impersonating a policeman, the CA ID card will give you an escape.
Any legitimate police officer should present a badge and ID just as
you should.

meteorological service for Mexico and their website gives very
detailed info
www.smn.conagua.gob.mx. Click on the proníóstico de
tiempo for weather forecast, then select the city, in our case, La
Paz. You can toggle between Celcius and Fahrenheit degrees and even
