Buenos días,
The letters have been sent and the ball is rolling. It seems that
they are going to increase the security “finally”.
I would like to let you know that yesterday one of our boats here at
east cape, send a notification about a suspicious panga park about a
mile out of La Ribera with 5 guys on it. Well, FONMAR came over from
San Jose about hour and half later, and they went out with couple
Policias MInisteriales (kind of detectives, armed), they went out
about 2:30pm and they found the panga, they start getting closer up
to few meters away and until then the 5 guys notice it was
inspection and police people. Well they jump out and pull out the
machine guns same as the police officers, there was no shooting cuz
the guy on the wheel speed the panga and the FONMAR people did not
want to chase as that panga had a 300 hp engine and the FONMAR only
a 115Hp, plus he saw there was no chance to give them a fight with
hand guns agains 4 or 5 machine guns.
The navy was informed and they sent the boats this way as the panga
run towards cerralvo island. Two of the interceptors came, one from
La Paz and one from Cabo, Im not sure but I think they slept outside
East Cape area.
They guys from FONMAR thinks, that those guys were waiting until
dark to hit La Ribera again, fortunately someone saw them and alert
us.
I call most of the people I know to let them know that happened and
that spread the word so no one leave their boats near the water.
I don´t know how to call this event, if is a good sign of the work
now the authorites are going to do, or if its bad sign because those
guys are arriving on day light already and maybe they start stealing
in bright day.
