APC Accounting Service's owner Rodolfo
Hernandez's mother is in the IMSS in La Paz and is in urgent need of
blood to replace the blood they have used for her surgeries. She has
had some complications with a intestinal biopsy that has lead to 4
surgeries in 30 days. In speaking with the blood bank, they
explained to me that any type of blood is accepted and you can
donate in the IMSS in San Jose (the one downtown), in Cabo San Lucas
or in La Paz (5th of February by Telcel and Banorte). Her name is
Maria Guadalupe Grijalva Cabrera. She is in the #2 Bed in ICU at the
IMSS in La Paz. The blood bank is open M-F from 7AM-5pm. If anyone

*Saturday Sept. 1--Shotgun start at 7 a.m. Weight station will be
open from noon until 6 p.m. There will be lots of Corona Girls at
the weight station, live music by Banda La Grande from Mazatlan from
4 p.m. until 8pm and free food for everyone from the fish being
caught, as soon as they start weighing in fish. The Awards Ceremony
will start 8pm but the party will go all night.

Regarding the snake post,:
a. According to a biologist who works for CIBNOR
the only native Baja snake which is venomous is the Rattle Snake but
some time some are born without rattles...they are called by local
people "Vivora Sorda" (Deaft snake). Normally adults do not die from
been bitten, children are more likely to die depending on the age.
Because of the more and more frequent vegetables and fruits brought
in Baja from mainland it is expected that with time other venomous
snakes will be imported from Mail land Mexico. If you keep in
captivity a wild animal you must have a permit.
One must be aware that snakes are very usefull reptiles
in the world and in Baja they are protected by law thus if the
authorities are informed of someone killing a snake there is
possible jail time and for sure a fine. In Mexico there are several
laws protecting all animals, wild animals are regulated by Federal
legislation but States do have local legislation also for domestic
animals.

b. Information about the Yellow-bellied Sea
Snake can be found in the reference book entitled "Fishes of the
Pacific Coast" ... on page 243 - or thereabouts since I am
referencing a book edition dated 1988. For everyone's safety, it
states...."The yellow-bellied sea snake is one of the most widely
distributed VENOMOUS sea snakes in the world". All who frequent the
coast, especially the area from Baja Calif to Ecuador, should learn
to recognize this sea snake so as to avoid it. I would also suggest
people "Google It" ....
