Los Barriles Community Market News
We had a wonderful turn out last week at the Sat. Market.
There was great holiday spirit. lots of vendors and lots of
shoppers and hope it continues to grow, so we encourage all
artists, food vendors, produce vendors, crafters, non-profits
and shoppers to come out any or all Saturdays.
It is a great morning activity for all you
locals who have guests in town this week, so bring them all to
the LOS BARRILES COMMUNITY MARKET this Sat. Dec. 29, 9am-1pm at
the New City Park and help us bring on the NEW YEAR! See you
there!

del Pueblo this year! He brought us two great new businesses into
the Plaza.......Aldo's Cantina and Lighthouse Pizzeria. We will

Barriles Jan. 6th (Day of the Kings here); you won't
want to miss our A.L.M.A. fundraiser. In celebration of
our 10th anniversary, we will be revisiting our first
every fundraiser for A.L.M.A. Come and join us for
"Crooning for Critters"; a fun Karaoke night. We will
have appetizers and a special "Day of the Kings" punch!
The party starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Los Pescadores
Hotel and goes to ??? Tickets are $12. usd or 150.
pesos. This will be a fun event that you won't want to
miss!! Come help support your local humane society.

BAJA SKY TONIGHT -- Thursday,
Dec. 27: Tonight is the month's Brightest Moon,
almost 100% illuminated. Full Moon on Friday
night will be only 99% illuminated. How can this be?
Astronomical Full Moon (AFM) occurs on Friday, December 28, at
3:21am, the instant the sun and moon are 180 degrees apart on
opposite sides of the earth. Tonight the moon rises about 10
hours before AFM, and Friday it rises about 15 hours after AFM.
So tonight's rising moon is 5 hours closer to AFM than Friday's,
making it fuller and brighter than Friday's "full moon." Watch
for the rising of the month's brightest moon tonight around
5:28pm (a minute or so later behind Cerralvo). Friday's " full
moon" rises around 6:20pm, and Saturday's not-far-from-full-moon
(97% illuminated) around 7:12pm. See if you can tell any
difference between tonight's and Friday's rising moons. There
will also be higher than normal morning high tides between 7am
and 10am for the rest of December. Tom S.
