The first attempt at finding basketball players
in Los Barriles started well enough ... 4 men and 2 women showed up
at high noon for the shootout. We will be at it again today noon and
Saturday noon and Sunday noon at the new Laguna Park behind El Viejo
taco restaurant. The goal is to start a regular schedule for
interested players in the near future ... according to Garp.

Please mark your
calendars for this year’s Kindergarten Dinner-Show spectacular. The
Mothers and teachers are already hard at work making preparations
and it looks to be better than last year’s if that’s possible. The
date is; 21 March, 5:00PM at the Cancha downtown next to DIF. This
event, due to popularity is a pre-sale only for tickets and I
guarantee will be a sell-out as always so purchase your tickets
early. Pre sale will begin March 1st at the Kindergarten next to the
school in Los Barriles and at my office on Callejon Salsipuedes
across the street. As before my customers may reserve tickets by
email and pay from their account.
Price per person for the show, children’s dancing, a
recycle exposition plus dinner is a meager $130.00 pesos and all
proceeds will be used for the continued betterment of the school.
More info will be announced after ticket sales begin.

The Asociacion de Artes del Mar de Cortez A.C., cordially invites
you to participate in our
Festival de Artes. We have attached a “Request Form” for your space
rental. Please follow the instructions below to reserve and
pay for your space.
1. Download the form to your computer, fill in the appropriate
spaces (this is in .pdf format
and you can click in the area to type in your info). Save to a file
that you can then attach to
your return email to
festivaldeartes@hotmail.com . Or print this and fax to
#624-141-0266.
2. If you would like to be included in the Artist’s selling area of
the Festival, you will need to
include photos of your one of a kind, art or craft. Once your photos
have been received we
can place you in the appropriate area. If we do not receive photos
from you we will place you
in the Vendor sales area.
3. We will then contact you with a confirmation of your booth space,
the amount due and
bank deposit information. Then send us a copy of the deposit slip or
the transaction number
and date, via email or fax #624-141-0266. If you choose to pay in
cash, you can drop off your
payment at La Casa, Local #10, Plaza del Pueblo in Los Barriles.
Hours: Mon-Fri 9 am to 5 pm,

4. Once your payment is confirmed you will receive your booth
number, set up times, and a
map to the location.
5. You also have the option to pay at the event site, the day of the

The Artists Studio Tour on Monday Feb. 13th is
always a lot of fun and a great way to meet your local artists and
see where they create their "works of art". This year have 19
artists showing at 15 homes that are on our map. There are acrylic,
oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, mosaic tile tables, hand
knits, clothing, hand painted glassware, soy candles and, of course,
jewelry. I (Elizabeth Perkins) am a jewelry artists. I work with
sterling silver, semiprecious stones and pearls. Most of my
creations are on of a kind and I have a great selection of earrings,
bracelets, and necklaces. I only do a few shows a year in Los
Barriles as I mostly sell to the gift shops at Las Ventannas and
Esperanza hotels and Antigua de Mexico at the Pallmilla shops so
this is a good opportunity to come by and see my line of Jewelry. I
am # 3 on the map which you can pick in front of Otra Vez Monday
morning. The hours are 10 to 4. Also if you fellas need a Valentine
gift for your sweetheart this would be a good time to do a little
