TODAY.... Artist Studio Tour Presented by the Art Association
Please support our local artists and also inspire our young people to be creative on the East Cape. Buy your tickets to the artist's Open Studio Tour on Monday February 13th from 10am till 4pm. Tickets are on sale now at La Casa in the Plaza for 60 pesos. Maps and tickets will also be available on Monday the 13th in front of Otra Vez for 70 pesos.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Flower, a psychologist/psychoanalyst. You've probably seen some of my posts here on the Pony. I'd like to give a free talk locally on a subject rarely discussed in public, what I call The New Science Of Fat and Your Brain. There is much ignorance and misunderstanding out there about some fundamental feedback patterns between metabolism, diet, exercise and, yes, our *thinking* (dare we say this out loud?) Most people are fighting a losing battle against overweight and we certainly don't have a chance in that struggle without up-to-date information. To base our efforts on old, doomed strategies is just too discouraging. It's hard enough. a. I'm writing you from the Coral Reef Restaurant in Cabo Pulmo because my internet isn't working.
And so I've been sampling their new menu. They're new chef, Felipe, moved here from Oceanside, CA and has created some really nice dishes. I've tried his salsas and his fish tacos and they're delicious. Let folks know they should come on down and try it out. Joy

c. We are planning a trip to LB within the next couple weeks. I've had this planned for some time and as it gets closer my traveling companion is starting to get really concerned about driving south. We will be crossing at Tecate, south on Hwy 3 to Hwy 1. I have driven down before and keep telling her it is safe. Has anyone had any troubles, either at the checkpoints or along the way? I told her that alot of the "Lord of the Wind" contestants and spectators drove both ways within the last couple weeks. To my knowledge nobody was killed, ran off the road or carjacked. The Artists Studio Tour on Monday Feb. 13th is always a lot of fun and a great way to meet your local artists and see where they create their "works of art". This year have 19 artists showing at 15 homes that are on our map. There are acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, mosaic tile tables, hand knits, clothing, hand painted glassware, soy candles and, of course, jewelry. I (Elizabeth Perkins) am a jewelry artists. I work with sterling silver, semiprecious stones and pearls. Most of my creations are on of a kind and I have a great selection of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. I only do a few shows a year in Los Barriles as I mostly sell to the gift shops at Las Ventannas and Esperanza hotels and Antigua de Mexico at the Pallmilla shops so this is a good opportunity to come by and see my line of Jewelry. I am # 3 on the map which you can pick in front of Otra Vez Monday morning. The hours are 10 to 4.
