Sad News..............Jeanene "Nini" Baumer
(Valerie Simpsons mother) long time Baja resident and friend to many
in the Los Barriles area passed away this past Tuesday Feb 14 in San
Diego. Jeanene was a Lady who enjoyed the fruits Baja has to offer
for more than 30 years. Contributions in her remembrance can be made
to the East Cape Guild.

East Cape Recycling Baja needs 10 CEMEX concrete
bags to use in the recycling center and to transport recyclables.
These bags are gigantic, approximately 4 ft in diameter and 6 ft
tall. If you know of a construction project for which concrete was
delivered in these giant bags, please ask that the bags be donated
to East Cape Recycling Baja. Just drop the bags at the office of the
East Cape RV Resort. Theresa and Shaun have graciously donated the
space at the East Cape RV Resort for our recycling center. Thanks in

The 22nd of February is Ash Wednesday and the
services will be at 8:00AM, 6:00PM and 8:00PM at the Catholic church
on the highway. I would also like to use this means to thank the
different groups here in Los Barriles involved in helping our
children with a variety of different programs. The majority of our
school children between 1st and 7th grades are obligated to attend
Catechism classes each Saturday morning from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at
the church and are therefore not available to partake in these
events if scheduled during this time frame so perhaps the organizers
could find a way to schedule around this and therefore give all the
children a chance to partake in the event. Any questions please feel

Sadly the end of our season is quickly
approaching. 4 weeks and Loco Rico's Sand Bar will be going on
vacation for 6 months. I myself am going to be moving out of Los
Barriles so we will make the next month the best of the season. We
