Hello fisherman, (Sorry, I'm late
with today's BPE!
Apparently poison was put out last week by Playa
del Sol in an indiscriminate attempt to kill feral cats. Several
local dogs were poisoned and at least one died. Please do not let
your dogs walk in this area without being on leash control. All
though this is a felony to put out poison unannounced in towns;
apparently, the law was not heeded in this case. We are trying to
work with local authorities to make sure this does not happen again.

believe that they may be trying to capture an email list. Please be

Pitalla Mining Project
Hearings - On Dec. 15, 2011, Agronaut Gold filed for operating
permits for the mammoth open pit Pitalla Gold mine in San Antonio.
As part of the permitting process the community, in this case the La
Paz municipality of which we are a part, has the right to file for
public hearings. After a major campaign the federal government
approved the public hearings, which gives the mining company an
opportunity to present their project and the public the opportunity
to comment and ask questions. The hearings were yesterday. The
9-hour event was an amazing exercise in democracy. In spite of the
fact that the mining company bussed in over 200 people complete with
pro mining tee shirts, the number of citizens opposing the mine
completely overwhelmed the mining company's strategy. a. Since I will buy a new GPS/depth sounder, I would like to learn your opinions about the best electronic chart options (s) for the Sea of Cortez off the East Cape.
