YOGA CENTER SUNDAY SAMPLER
We all (should) know that the best way to stay physically healthy and mentally sharp is to exercise regularly. Taking an occasional walk will help, at least on those occasions where you actually move your body, swing your arms, and get your heart rate up. You do have additional options. The Los Barriles Sukhasana Yoga and Pilates Studio (Yoga Center) offers a wide selection of classes, open to both men and women, to keep you moving, keep you limber, keep you sharp and keep you in line.
     On Sunday, January 22 five of the instructors at the Yoga Center will offer a FREE introduction to the exercises programs that they have available. Each instructor will take 20 minutes to introduce their specialty and lead a short exercise session.
Brigitte will wind you up with some Zumba
Anne will strengthen your core with Pilates.
Dede will share the essence of Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Sefi will strengthen you with her Bone-Building Tone and Zone Fusion Class
Annalisa will straighten you out with the Egoscue method of postural alignment exercises.
     This class will be geared to those of you out there in Pony land here who haven’t yet figured out what kind of a fitness program will work for you and/or aren’t even sure of the difference between Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Fusion and Postural Alignment.
Two sessions will be offered and each session is limited to 15 participants.
Session one: 9-10:45
Session two 11-12:45
Please RSVP to: AnnalisaV@gmail.com if you would like to attend. Be sure to tell her your preferred time slot.
Also, note that this is NOT a recurring class. The Sampler will be offered only on January 22.

Last year we watched the eagles hatching and feeding their eaglets on live streaming video at www.raptorresource.org . First egg laid last year was 2/23, so it should be about another month before there is much to see with the eagles. In the meantime, check out the live streaming video of bears in their dens at www.bear.org.  We will be able to see them give birth and take care of their cubs. Craig Hammes craig@GeekAmI.com   (The eagles were amazing last year!)

     Turn on your computer, open your photos and important documents, take a good look, this may be the last time you see them if you don't have a backup plan. Yes, even I have been remiss on backups. You need to backup the data on your computer on a regular and frequent time table. You need the original plus at least an additional copy usually on an external hard drive. That way you have immediate access to those photo's and files. Next you need an off site back up - burn a disk and send it to a family member. If some one steals you computer and your external hard drive, you still have data. Your most important data should be stored on line. There are a variety of sites that do this. Carbonite and Mozy are the most popular. Those programs run in the background and save a copy of your files (not programs) to the cloud (geek speak for on-line storage). After the initial backup run, those programs only react to changed files. Both Carbonite and Mozy allow you to access your stored files from another computer and will restore them to your hard drive in case of a crash.
     Other options - I use Drop Box for files that I may need on the run. I slide a copy into Drop Box and it sends a copy to my ipad, iphone, android phone and all my other computers. If I need insurance documents or registrations, they are will me all the time. I store my tax returns on line using the Amazon Cloud drive. Skydrive and Box Net are alternatives. All these options offer 5 gigs of storage for free and free syncing between devices. They are fully encrypted, beyond the reach of hackers.
     Hard drives do fail and most fail without notice. A significant number of drives fail in the first 90 days. They seem to work fine for about 3 years. After that the rate of failure is about 10% per year. Just when you think everything is fine, you turn on your computer to find a black screen that informs you - No operating system found!!! That's no time to remember that you don't have a plan.
     Next time you buy a computer, consider a solid state hard drive. No moving parts, faster and more reliable!  Back up now! the computer guy (thecomputerguy@usa.com)

THUMBS UP - ANSWERS - DISCUSSIONS- This category must have email address.

a. Hola: It is called the INAPAM card, issued for free by DIF in La Paz to those 60 or older who are residents of Baja. It is good for discounts on taxes and some utilities, admission to some museums, discounts on some trains and buses and perhaps air travel. The discounts are sometimes available for lodging, medicines and other things. Here is a Baja Nomad Forum posting: \
Over 60 and live in Mexico? Got your INAPAM card yet?
Anyone 60 or older living in Mexico with an FM2 (and in some places with an FM3) is entitled to an INAPAM card. Basically is a senior citizen discount card, and it entitles the bearer to discounts, some significant, on airline fares (10-25%), bus fares (50% off), utility bills, property tax bills, pharmacy purchases, grocery stores, some restaurants, etc. Available through your local DIF office.

To get mine in Loreto (with Mirna at DIF), I provided:
3 infantil-sized photos;
2 copies passport;
2 copies MX driver's license (US licenses are OK too);
2 copies of a utility bill.

It took less than 20 minutes, and I had to get the card laminated myself.
Easiest paperwork I've ever done!
Have not found where it can be obtained in Los Cabos. May have to go to LaPaz

FISHING REPORTS - Local's fishing reports do NOT need to be signed.  Just tell the TRUTH!

Example #1:  30 miles  north caught 2-40lb dorado and one 5' wahoo.
Example #2:  Charter boat  went south.  Skunked but saw 2 huge pods of dolphins & one whale.
