Asociación de Artes Craft Class
The Asociación de Artes will hold a craft class on Saturday, January
21, 2012, from 11:30 till 1pm at La Cancha in Los Barriles for
anyone who would like to help with the children's art program and or
observe one of our monthly Saturday classes at the DIF. The next one
is February 18th and we will be decorating Mardi Gras masks for the
kids to wear in the parade that afternoon.

YOGA CENTER SUNDAY SAMPLER
We all (should) know that the best way to stay physically healthy
and mentally sharp is to exercise regularly. Taking an occasional
walk will help, at least on those occasions where you actually move
your body, swing your arms, and get your heart rate up. You do have
additional options. The Los Barriles Sukhasana Yoga and Pilates
Studio (Yoga Center) offers a wide selection of classes, open to
both men and women, to keep you moving, keep you limber, keep you
sharp and keep you in line.
On Sunday, January 22 five of the instructors at the Yoga Center
will offer a FREE introduction to the exercises programs that they
have available. Each instructor will take 20 minutes to introduce
their specialty and lead a short exercise session.
Brigitte will wind you up with some Zumba
Anne will strengthen your core with Pilates.
Dede will share the essence of Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Sefi will strengthen you with her Bone-Building Tone and Zone Fusion
Class
Annalisa will straighten you out with the Egoscue method of postural
alignment exercises.
This class will be geared to those of you out there in Pony land
here who haven’t yet figured out what kind of a fitness program will
work for you and/or aren’t even sure of the difference between
Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Fusion and Postural Alignment.
Two sessions will be offered and each session is limited to 15
participants.
Session one: 9-10:45 - Session two 11-12:45

We had a wonderful whale watching adventure at Magdalena Bay. There
were many, many whales, but no babies yet. Lots of activity,
jumping, breaching...mating dances, we were told. We had several up
close encounters. One female decided to give us a wonderful show.
After entertaining us with head stands and blowing bubbles under the
boat, she came up to the boat, several times, to be rubbed.
Amazing!!! Our captain Crispin Mendoza, speaks English, and has been
whale touring for 25+ years. His rates are very reasonable. Thank
you to Ray Underwood for responding to my BPE inquiry and
recommending Cris and his wife Marielena. Marielena made delicious
shrimp tacos for our lunch after our tour.

Pro-Windsurfer Tyson Poor and Pro-Kiter Johnny Heinken battled it
out at the finish line today for the 11-mile crossing event. Neck
and neck until the bitter end, Tyson strategically secured a
well-deserved first place finish. Check the boards today at Expo
