The Mayor of Los Barriles would like to meet the community of Americans, Canadians and those from other countries that call Los Barriles home - whether full time, part time or for the season. Mayor Ramiro Hirales wants to share his goals for our infrastructure (roads, topes, arroyos) and his vision for the community (safety, economic growth, caring for youth) and also introduce you to the new city park just completed in the heart of town. This Friday, January 27, at 10 am, please join Mayor Hirales as he seeks to form bonds between our cultures and community. Coffee and donuts will be served. The community gathering will be held at the new “Parque Laguna” located behind Campestre Triny Restaurant and Fayla’s Restaurant. Carnaval Parade and Mardi Gras Celebration: Saturday, Feb. 18 at 4 PM
* This year's parade will start at El Barrilito Restaurant and proceed along the main street to The Cancha (This is a new route for this parade!)
* All are invited to participate in the parade. We hope to have as many amusing, costumed & masked paraders, vehicles, and animals as possible.
* Music for dancing at the Cancha. Food and refreshing drinks will be provided by local vendors at reasonable prices.

a.  Can anyone out there verify, or put to rest, the rumor that poison laced food has been put out in various areas of the community to kill stray dogs. I was warned that this was happening, to keep my dog on a leash, and be sure it doesn't scavenge anything and eat it. Deacon@wildblue.net
