Malware May Knock
Thousands Off Internet On Monday - In the March 06, 2012 issue of
the Baja Western Onion,

"DNSChanger Virus," which had infected thousands of computers around
the world. The FBI and Interpol arrested several individuals and
confiscated the Internet servers used to compromise infected
computers. They replaced the rogue servers temporarily to avoid
knocking people off the Internet. But this was intended as a
temporary measure to allow owners time to clean the virus from their
computers. These replacement servers are scheduled to taken offline
on Monday. Any computers which are still infected with this virus on
Monday will lose their ability to connect to the Internet. Here is a

from the article:
According to the FBI, the number of computers that probably are
infected is more than 277,000 worldwide, down from about 360,000 in
April. About 64,000 still-infected computers are probably in the
United States...
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority said about
25,000 of the computers initially affected by the malware were in
Canada, but now only about 7,000 machines remain infected there,
according to Canadian Internet Registration Authority spokesman Mark
Buell...
Most victims don't even know their computers have been
infected, although the malicious software probably has slowed their
online surfing and disabled their antivirus software, making their
machines more vulnerable to other problems...
To see if your computer is infected, you may want to check it before
Monday here: www.dns-ok.us . if
the image displayed is red, then your computer is infected by the
DNSChanger virus. NOTE: This site is intended to detect only the
