Peter Bachmann, my brother and best friend past away July 13th after a month long battle in the ICU, we will be missed by all his friends and loved ones. In the fall we will get together and give his ashes to the Sea of Cortez where he loved to be.

     Hi I just thought that some of the people in the area would want to know that Tonye Meads passed away. She lived in La Ribera and was a very talented artist she painted many things for people in the area...i have sent along a copy of her obituary that you might want to post in your news letter.

From Tonye's Mom and family (to be printed in the La Jolla Light):
     Toni (Tonye) Alicia Meads lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer Monday, July 16, 2012. She was the beloved daughter of Cynthia Shelley and G.W. Meads; stepdaughter to John Shelley; niece to Vicky Holly; sister to Shane Shelley and his wife, Catherine; sister to Jeff Meads; aunt to Siena and Berlin Shelley and Brittany Lee Cota and her husband, Chris; great aunt to Madison and Aaron Cota; cousin to dearest Lori Cairncross; soulmate to Andrew Doyle; and loving friend and family member to many others.
     Toni was an artist to the bone, both in her work and the way she lived her life and loved her family and friends. Her spirit has blessed us all and remains with us in the winds and seas of the places she loved and to which she graced her presence. Toni embraced life with a passion and courage, from living among the bears of Kodiak to painting murals in the deserts of Baja to herding cattle in the fields of Nebraska. She was a graduate of La Jolla High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College and received her master’s degree in art and set design from Humboldt State University.
     The family would like to say thank you to her many friends for their love and care. There will be a paddle out ceremony in La Jolla at a date to be announced.
     Thank you to Andrew Doyle for his tireless love in Toni’s last days, to Dr. McHale and the other doctors and staff at Moore’s Cancer Center and to the wonderful people at San Diego Hospice. Any donations in Toni’s name should be made to either of those organizations.
