O negative is needed but ANY blood will be accepted and credited to
Armando.
Kay Mundt our Blood Coordinator is currently unavailable at this
time and Tessa, 141-0427, will be happy to take any calls in
regarding donating blood. All the who, what, when and where
questions.
Here is a list of requirements to donate blood.
Tessa went up to the hardware store this morning.
Armando has broken wrists/arm, feet/ankles/possible clavicle and
needs several surgeries and NEEDS blood. The other young man
has been res leased from the hospital. (Hopefully, this info
is accurate)
Requirements to donate blood.
- Official ID
- Between 18 and 65 years
old
- To weigh more than 50kg
(x2.2=110lbs)
- Six hours with eating
mile, meat, eggs or greasy meals
- Not to have suffered
Hepatitis
- Not to be hypertensive
(high blood pressure) diabetic or have heart disease
- Do not use drugs
- Do not have any
infection
- If you have had a
vaccine the following period of time must have passed
Anti-rabies 1 year
Hepatitis 6 months
Tetanus 28 days
Influenza 28 days
Not to have sexual conducts
of risk such as promiscuity, homosexuality and/or prostitution

East Cape Health Center, a Mexican non-profit organization, located
in Los Barriles BCS, provides medical care to individuals and
families who lack the resources or find it difficult to meet basic
health care needs. Their two crucial programs are the Diabetes
Program and the Children's Dental Program. The Diabetes Program
provides screening, detection, prevention, and treatment of diabetes
free of cost to the community. The Children's Dental Program
provides free dental hygiene instruction, evaluation and treatment
as necessary to all children in the East Cape area under the age of
14. At the recent Van Wormer Dorado Shootout, the East Cape Health
Center raffled off an exquisite Dorado necklace laced with blue
topaz and yellow citrine stones depicting the beautiful colors of
the Dorado. The Dorado necklace was graciously donated by the Hotel
Palmas de Cortez, a Van Wormer Resort and yielded $2,600 in raffle
money which will be divided equally between the Diabetes Program and
the Children's Dental Program. East Cape Health Center wishes to
thank all the Dorado fishermen and their families for their
generosity and big hearts.
