Have a recurring electrical problem at my house in Lighthouse Point Estates in La Ribera. It has to do either with the ground for the whole house or a short. The whole house might no be grounded. Hopefully, the next emails will be that this has come to a reasonable conclusion for Fido & Morris.  Check with your airline before you fly! 

     A lot of what was posted in the BPE on Saturday is incorrect. The 'no pets in cabin' directive from the Mexican govt is NOT a rumor, nor does it only apply to domestic flights. I, and several others, have received copies of the actual Directive and have had them translated. PLEASE DO NOT ADD TO THE CONFUSION BY PERPETUATING THE STORY THAT THIS IS JUST A RUMOR OR A MISUNDERSTANDING OF THE LAW. We have people all over Mexico, the US and Canada working to resolve this, and such rumors and falsehoods are not helpful.

     The 800 number for the Tourism office in Monterrey has been flooded with calls and the people who answer should be fully aware of the problem. In fact, we received word on Thursday that there have been so many complaints registered that they have taken the matter up with the Transport folks, who subsequently promised that the Rules will be rescinded in September.

     ALL major airlines are now complying with the rule, with the possible exception of WestJet who, at last word, were "on the verge" of implementing the policy. All other airlines are NOT accepting pets in cabin: United/Continental, Delta, Alaska/Horizon, US Airways, American, etc.
     Because the Mexican Federal election is on July 1, we will be continuing our efforts until the law is reversed, as there may be a whole new slate of officials to deal with after the election
