CRUSH and SORT…recycling words to live by!
The Writer's Workshop has been cancelled that was
scheduled for March 6th
The Tuesday morning Beach Tai Chi has ended for
this season, and it was my sincere pleasure to provide instruction.
Thanks to all who participated ... you helped to raise over 2,000
pesos for the ALMA cause. Special thanks to the East Cape RV Park
participants who were faithful each week in their attendance and
support. See you next November! Muchas gracias, Hans Held.
Baja Sky Sunday Evening. On Sunday evening, the
ISS will make its brightest and longest pass of the year. It will
rise in the NW around 7:07pm and travel high in the sky towards the
SE . First it will pass between W-shaped Casseopeia and V-shaped
Andromeda, which has at least 7 stars with known planets. Next it
passes just to the east of bright Venus and Jupiter. Notice that
Venus is quickly closing in on Jupiter. A few minutes later the ISS
will graze the red giant star Aldebaran in Taurus just to the NW of
Orion. Next it passes through Bellatrix, Orion's shoulder to the
observer's right, and then the 3 stars of his belt before crossing
Sirius, the brightest star in the sky located two fists below the
belt. Finally, the ISS will disappear over the Punta Arena area
around 7:13pm to complete a six-minute pass. For viewers in the Los
Barriles area, times are 10 seconds earlier, and the ISS passes just
below the named stars. However, if you can catch the first minute or
so of the pass through binoculars, watch for the Andromeda Spiral
Galaxy as the ISS will appear to pass just to its left from your
area. Instead of passing through Orion's shoulder and belt, from Los
Barriles it will appear to pass through Rigel, Orion's right knee
(or foot). THUMBS UP - ANSWERS - DISCUSSIONS- This category must have name & email address. a. We stopped today at Los Compadres Restaurant for lunch. It is located on Mex 1 a bit south of Miraflores, between klicks 68 and 70. A sort of yellow-gold building on the right side heading to Los Cabos. It is supposed to be open every day except Tuesday and features a fine menu. The food was excellent, although slightly pricey. Wonderful place to stop on and airport/costco run. It has a playground for kids with large inflatable jump toys, swings, soccer nets, etc. I recommend you try it. It is in the middle of nowhere and you wonder why it is there. Plenty of parking, easy in and out. FISHING REPORTS - Local's fishing reports do NOT need to be signed. Just tell the TRUTH!
