Dede's Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class Sunday March 25TH

The Amistad Award Dinner is
fast approaching and you don't want to miss it,
March 31th at Palmas De Cortez. We already have
over 150 reservations. The evening plans to be
an event to remember. The dinner feast will
start with appetizers during the cocktail hour
of 5:30 to 6:30, no host bar. From there you
will be seated to enjoy a Fillet Mignon dinner
with all of the side dishes and topped off by a
delectable dessert.
The real highlight of the evening will be the
presentations of the Amistad Award to both Noe
Araiza Fiol and Cheryl Dondlinger. These two
individuals were select by the community for
their incredible commitment to the East Cape.
We all need to say thank you for their efforts;
they make living here that much better

As you may know, Continental Airlines ceased
independent operations last weekend as it merged
into a larger United Airlines. 99% of the
airports around the world have been able to move
gates and ticket counters to merge the
operations of the two carriers. A noticeable
exception is our own SJD airport. I was at the
airport Saturday and watched the United flights.
It appears that United will be operating out of
both terminals until the "Alaska" terminal
expansion is completed this summer(?). The
historic United flights to/from Denver, Chicago,
LAX and SFO will continue to operate at the
"Alaska" terminal. The historic Continental
flights to/from Houston and Newark will operate
as United flights, but will use terminal 1.
The moral is that if you are picking
up/dropping off someone for a United flight, you
need to know where the flight is going/coming
from to find the correct terminal.

Houston or Newark= Terminal 1

By Popular Demand: More Egoscue Method Postural
Alignment Classes:
Beginning this week Annalisa will be adding two
new Postural Alignment classes and deleting the
Friday morning class.
The new schedule is:
Tuesday session one: 9:45-10:45
Tuesday session two: 11:00-12:00
Thursday afternoon 1:00-2:00
no class on Friday
If look into the mirror and see that one
shoulder is higher, or you look at photos of
yourself and see that your head is forward, or
you walk on the beach and see duck foot prints,
or you suffer from chronic hip or back pain then
this class is for you. In our Egoscue method
postural alignment sessions, we do a variety of
exercises to awaken those postural muscles that
aren’t doing their fair share of the work, and
to calm down those compensating muscles that
have taken over. The results can be immediate.
Give it a try. Classes are held at the Yoga
Studio in Los Barriles.

DINNER & DANCE NIGHT EL BARRILITO Restaurant and
Bar
I am sorry to announce that this event will no
longer continue this year but we have made plans
to resume next Nov.
I wish to thank Fransisco, Nancy and the entire
staff at El Barrilito’s.
I also want to thank all of the community for
your support which made it possible for me to
donate all of these items:
So far, last week I have donated to the primary
school in Buena Vista an overhead projector, to
the Imss local health clinic an Eye, Ear, Nose,
and Throat Exam Center, and to the L.B.
Secondary School a laptop, Computer Viewer and
assistance hooking up a projector and computer
viewer. Tues at 12:30 pm I will donate to the
Kindergarten in L.B. a laptop, overhead
projector and a printer w/ ink. Later that
afternoon to the Secondary School in L.B. a
overhead projector, a large box of glass ware
for the science lab, and a wireless router.
Every year I take a list of the things a school
/ clinic needs. I cannot always supply
everything but I try.
I have a contact within University Nev. Reno
where I can buy surplus Teaching Items and
Medical Equipment. Most of the items need
maintenance, repairs and attention. I have a
large shop in Reno where I can do the necessary
repairs to most of the items. Some are not worth
fixing and I must take the loss. All laptops are
completely wiped clean and I must reinstall
operating systems, drivers, virus protection,
and various other programs. Some of them even
need new screens, power adapters, and other
hardware.
I started doing this 5 years ago and have given
many needed items to the LB schools and the IMSS
Clinic. I also collect a list of needed items
from these agencies for the next year. Among the
items for this year are 2 XP laptops, 2 printers
W/ ink, 3 overhead projectors with digital
attachments to connect a VCR, DVD, Computer etc
up to the projector. Lots of glassware for the
science labs, and a Eye, Ear, Nose, & Throat
Examination Station and Routers.
In order to help pay for the program costs I
started the Off Road & Classic Car Show 6 years
ago. That has been modified into the Dinner &
Dance Night you see now. Most of the events have
been held at Palmas Hotel until this year. This
year we moved to El Barrilito. I have pic’s of
the presentations of all items as well as items
I have for this year. When I have a surplus of
items I will also sell some or trade for things
to offset my costs.

We have an Island Hopping trip from La Paz to Loreto March 17 (the
day to be in LP) - March 25 (the day you'll be in Loreto) which only
has two people booked. We've been trying like crazy to book more
people on this trip and discounted it (back in January) from it's
regular price of $1,350 to only $1,125..
This got me thinking about offering a locals deal. So, we are now
offering this trip for only $1,000 for anyone who lives in Baja. .
They would have to be in La Paz on March 17th where they'll get
their hotel stay at our place included and will spend the night in a
hotel on March 24 in Loreto when the trip arrives there (also
included) then they will need to return to where ever on their own
on March 25th.
