ROAD REPORT

a.  Just drove up the Baja. There's 10 miles of construction north and south of the Rosarito check point, with one short detour on hard pan--no more flour dust/dirt road. Road thru Sta Rosalia is torn up, and they are building new road NORTH of town (not south as said in this BPE). New road is done from Santo Tomas to Maneadero. There's still ongoing construction on Hwy. 3 to Tecate, but it's easily passable by car. Ken

The My Thing of Beauty jewelry collection is a result of morning walks on East Cape beaches and discovering wonderful gifts delivered daily from the Sea of Cortes. These found Sea Glass bits and Sea Shells are combined with faceted glass beads, fresh water pearls and semi-precious stones to create one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, earrings & book markers.
I look forward to meeting you, MJ Keehn

BATIK TECHNIQUE: Melted wax is applied to cloth before being dipped in dye. The beeswax will hold to the fabric and  the paraffin wax will allow cracking, which is a characteristic of batik. Wherever the wax has seeped through the fabric, the dye will  not penetrate This traditional method of batik making is called batik tulis.
