RECYCLE NEWS**** Even though its "late" in the
season, East Cape Recycling Baja's latest Recycle Day collected and
took a bulging, chock-full pick-up truck and trailer down to San
Jose del Cabo Tuesday. Thanks to all in our community who save and
sort recycle materials daily from their trash and bring them to us
each month! And a BIG thanks to our hardy volunteers for pitching in
to help us; Some new, some regulars, we are thankful for all: Omar
Araiza, Holly and Stephen Burgin, Leigh-Anne Cameron and her mom,
Margaret, Theresa Comber, Chris Courtright, Russ Erlandson and
"Santa Cruz" Mike, Sharon Johnson, Tehroma Lask, Darlene LeBlanc,
Steve Mirassou, Heike Tash. We cannot do this physical work each
month without many helping hands and enthusiastic smiles!! Look for
our next RECYCLE DAY on Thursday, June 7. Maybe our volunteer list

Towed a nice boat from LB to San Jose Marina and got pulled over in
San Jose by Federales in a pickup for not having a valid sticker on
the trailer plate. They wanted me to disconnect the boat and trailer
until we got a valid sticker and pay all the fines for various
infractions. A 3000ps here and now fine kept us going. Be sure your
equipment is US/CA/MX legal before getting on the road.

We recently took the Eco Baja Tours bus from Los Barriles to SJD.
The bus and driver were top notch. On schedule departure and
arrival. The booking process is a bit shoddy. We booked and paid on
line, but were unable to print our confirmation. They managed to get
me tickets when I went to the office (next to the Dancing Dolphins
on the highway). When the bus arrived from La Paz, there was only
one seat for two of us. A young gentleman gave up his seat, and sat
on his duffle-bag between me and the driver.

We recently had a sombra built by Benjamin Collins Ruiz (cell 624
168 6339). His price was good, his work excellent and his crew went
above and beyond. When he was done our backyard was cleaner than it
was when he started. His crew took the dirt from the post holes and
wheel barrowed it to the street where they filled in some ruts and
holes. They not only filled the holes but tamped the dirt down,
watered it, and tamped it again. We will have them build our side
