CFE (Electric) Billing and Balance Information -
Last Year several people had paid ahead to CFE to cover bills while
they were away - only to find that unwarranted deductions had been
taken from their account and in some cases power had been shut off
(this happened to me). This last summer, I kept track of my balance
and checked each bill on line (PDF copy of each bill is available).
In May they subtracted 100 p too much from my balance. Upon arrival
in La Paz I went to the CFE payment station (on Colosio across from
Sorianas) and showed the person in the glass enclosure, my original
deposit and a list of the payments since then. He was very courteous
and capable and recalculated my correct balance - then he called an
office and changed my balance to the correct amount. Your CFE bills
and balance are available on line at
http://www.cfe.gob.mx/Paginas/Home.aspx You need to create
an account (with name and password). Then sign in and click on the
orange box "Pago En Linea" and your balance will appear as a
