Nov 17 Lets Talk Immigration The new Immigration Law
did take effect this past Friday the 9th.
This Saturday, November 17th at Los Pescadores Hotel at 10am. Via a
Power-point presentation we will discuss everything that you all
should know regarding the new laws. Questions such as if you will be
able to apply immediately. Will immigration automatically upgrade
your current visa, applying for permanent resident card and the new
fees and list of requirements and more.
Many of you have already signed up with us, or are on
our waiting list to start your process. We will contact and help
each case individually this week and after the presentation. Also,
in our effort to get back to each of you sooner we have assigned one
person, to act as a live-agent to Los Barriles residents, for the
sole purpose of keeping track of and replying to your questions.

for items that you no longer needed, because the Catholic Church "
Segrada Familia" is having there annual rummage sale.

Okay so your still up north getting ready to head south for the
winter. Here are a few tips. Remember to bring your laptop power
supply! Don't forget an external hard drive (back up all your data
before you leave!) Please bring your "system recovery disk" if one
came with your computer - that will save the tech hours of work! I
always bring a spare internal hard drive for each of my computers -
my wife always asks if I have rocks in the suitcase.
Let's talk hard drive failures. I had three hard drives
fail over the summer and one was a brand new solid state drive from
a highly reputable company that lasted one hour. Hard drives will
fail. About 5% will fail in the first 90 days. After 5 years the
rate of failure begins to rise to 50%. Most of the time, the drives
will fail without any warning. You need to back up your photos,
documents and data once a month. I back up my financials daily. If
you have one computer then check out
carbonite.com or
mozy.com for easy
on-line backup solutions. And yes, Mac computers face the same hard
drive failures.

Sukhasana Yoga & Pilates Center introduces Flow & Go - a new
morning yoga practice for those who want to jump start their day,
rev up metabolism and prep the body for the day's activities. Every
Tuesday and Friday morning at 7:15 (starting this Friday, 11/16),
this will be a vinyasa-based class suitable for all students, with
ample opportunity to "up-level" to intermediate and
intermediate/advanced throughout the class. The class will focus on
building core strength, lengthening muscles, and releasing tension
built up in the shoulders, back and hips... mixed with just the
right amount of "zen" to leave you feeling fresh and energized.

ROAD REPORT

We crossed the border on Thursday,
early afternoon. Nothing new to add. After our SUV was inspected we
drove to an uncovered parking area and were escorted to the offices
which are on the right side of the inspection area. First stop is
the "bank" where you fill out the FMM. They take US$ or pesos, enter
data from the passport and print out two pages. Next go to the
office where they keep one page and stamp the FMM. Very efficient -
easier and quicker than the old border crossing.
