Deceased kitty in Spa Buena Vista:
Sadly, a cat was killed on the north-going on-ramp from the arroyo
at Spa Buena Vista (opposite Buzzards Bay Restaurant) this morning.
We had seen it around the northernmost block of spa for many months
but have not been able to find out if it has an owner or if it is
feral. It was a domestic type medium haired white mature cat with
dark grey patches. I think it was female and any info about it would
be welcome. I believe it had 2 kittens in the past few months with
similar markings but I have not seen them for a week or so…they
visit our house frequently but flee whenever approached. Thanks,

There is a telephone scam going
on...............these are two different TRUE stories! Cheryl
a. A call to our house phone, a male voice
saying, Evelyn ?, this is your favorite
nephew. Well, it did sound a bit like a nephew of mine....I asked
his name, he replied
that I should guess. I gave a name, he replied - you got it right
first time.
I asked why he was calling and he replied- can't your favorite
nephew call?
I then asked, what is my brother's name. CLICK..hung up. So, the
scam failed,
but I was shocked he knew my real name and it was to our Mex.land
line phone.
Caller ID said Private Caller-normally that means a Mex.
telemarketer. Be aware.
b. PHONE SCAM ALERT! We received a call
early Sunday from a "family member", by name, saying that they were
in La Paz on their way to Cabo and would like to visit. we made
arrangements to meet them at the fountain. well about 2 hours later
they called back to say that they were delayed because they had been
in a fender bender and could we help them out; just $12,000P, not
too much too help out a family member. OK, with the transfer
information in hand, we got the cash and headed out to make the
transfer. all this involved several phone calls. including talking
to the "Federals" who spoke no English, a "Good Samaritan" who
stopped by to "help out" and another Mexican. much was said about
what would would happen if "John" did not get the money together.
The payment was made and all "was good".
Then, this morning we get a call from "John" saying all
had gone wrong and that he was in jail because the "little "child
that had received "a little bump on the head" had died. more money
was needed," just a little". That did it! SCAM!! Even telling them
that we were taped out, and would have to talk to our lawyer, they
are still calling back!
