     La Picazon to Coronado Fun Swim - Time: October 13, 2012. Location: La Picazon Restaurant. City/Town: Loreto BCS. Organized By: La Picazon to Coronado Fun Swim.
     The adventure starts on October 13, at La Picazon Restaurant, 7:45 AM. The restaurant is located just five miles away from the Desert Inn Loreto Hotel. The 3 mile swim through the Sea of Cortez will be supervised by Antares Ecological Group Loreto Bay Natonal Park and the Municipality of Loreto. The water temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius (78 degrees Fahrenheit).
     All participants are expected to show up at Hotel Oasis on October 12 at 7:00 PM for registration and explanation of the route. Schedule of the event:7:45 AM – everybody meets at Hotel Picazon
8:00 AM – swimming warm up
8:30 AM – swimming from La Picazon to Coronado (3 hours maximum)
11:30 – return to La Picazon by boat, kayak competition from Coronado to the restaurant
12:30 awards ceremony
The registration fee costs $20 which includes dinner rich in carbohydrates before the swim and a light lunch at La Picazon. Those who would like to stay after October 13 can take part in other activities: visiting the marine museum, the San Javier Mission, Puerto Escondito, kayaking, snorkeling, and cycling.
