Turtle Thanks! To all our East Cape friends, visitors and
supporters: As the 2013 Summer-Fall program comes to a close, we
can’t thank you enough for your interest, participation and
enthusiasm for our Baby Turtle project. We are so pleased to share
with you that more than 27,000 baby turtles were released from the
East Cape. Each time a turtle nest hatches and the babies emerge, we
are grateful that you have helped us help them reach the Sea of
Cortez and begin their life journeys. Our greatest enjoyment is to
share time with you during the releases on the shore, as your smiles
and excitement helps to encourage us forward. Historically just 1%
of turtles survive to maturity. Our goal with the East Cape Baby
Turtle project is to double that percentage, to see a 100% increase
in turtles that mature and return to our shores. Research shows so
much of the loss and attrition occurs from the time they are laid
until the time baby turtles first swim. Your help combined with our
efforts is what will improve these odds. We look forward to
welcoming you next year when Momma turtles again lumber up the shore
and lay their eggs. If you would like to have a turtle t-shirt to
remember your experience (with winter here we also have long

These children attend the school in La Ribera during the week and
stay at the Entrada until Friday where they return home to their
families in various rural areas for weekends. The children, grades
1-12, are just learning how to garden!! The future is in
educating the youth. They are learning to grow organic fruits,
vegetables and herbs from the Master!
Our vision is to see these families able to sustain their families
with food and, the resource needed to provide an education for
children in rural area that are mostly forgotten!
It is the season of giving and what better gift is there than an
education?
Come join us in the experience!!!
