As most of you have experienced the telephone and
internet service has been atrocious for the past month or two.
Telmex has had three crews here in Los Barriles for the past week
and are on their way north to Agua de la Costa next week. New
switches and such are being installed along with a much needed
general maintenance in hopes of giving us better service. I have
already had calls regarding the improved service and they should be
around for another couple of weeks.

Previously reported but with a few more details: My rental
car was boosted Tuesday while in a driveway in the Buenos Aires
section of Los Barriles. The suspect was a medium height, heavy
set male of about 40 driving a white SUV possibly a Chevy of
about 1990 vintage. He was seen milling around his car just
before the theft.
When we reported it to the police they said that they had not
heard of the other similar thefts that have been reported in
this paper. Perhaps the victims only told Baja Pony Express and
didn't bother to report the thefts to the police.
The police took the matter very seriously and even had some
forensic investigators from La Paz come down and fingerprint the

chef Arturo's killer carne asada sold 25 kilos !They are raising
money for a school trip and will be back this Sat. You can get

tortillas and you are set for a few days !
We have managed to talk a few local musicians into
coming this Saturday ,so bring a chair (and a hat if it's sunny),
get a cup of coffee from Carmen, go to Ace's Baja Biscuits for
breakfast and sit back and enjoy the morning!
