A Fundraiser for the local Fire
Department. The IESF will have a booth and accept donations (50
pesos) for a limited supply of retired Wildland Fire
Shelters. These aluminum and canvas "pup tents" are perfect for
protecting your toys from the sun, especially the quad! They're
very adaptable for anything that needs protection and come with
a case.
100% proceeds go to training the Bomberos! See you at
Saturday's Community Market.
======================================= Want to know more
about the whales that visit our area? Dr. Urmas Kaldveer is
our resident "whale man". A research biologist who has been
studying and advocating for the local whale population in
collaboration with the Universidad Autonoma de La Paz for the
past nine years, Urmas will be giving a presentation on
Thursday, January 17th from 5-6:30pm at the Homes and Land
of Baja Real Estate office. Come and get to know the very whales
you are likely to see from our beaches. Copies of Urmas' recent
book will also be available. Only 10 seats left! Contact pam@homesandlandofbaja.com to
reserve your place.
===================================================
Roadrunner Cafe
and Bakery will be at the Saturday Market. We will have
fresh baked sourdough,whole wheat, raisin bread and ciabatta
rolls. Have a cup of our fresh roasted coffee with
a raspberry turnover or a cranberry scone. Bags of coffee

THUMBS UP - ANSWERS -
DISCUSSIONS-
This category must have name & email address.
a. Thumbs up for Rancho La Venta, a
beautiful place to spend a night or two (or more), but be prepared
for the cold in the winter! Bob supplies lots of firewood for the
cozy outside stove, and in the morning Liz makes a delicious
breakfast. The beds in the casitas are very comfortable and
everything is clean. Guests can spend hours hiking or horseback
riding around the property. A good place to send friends and other
visitors for a taste of Baja beyond the beaches.
