Has anyone in BPE land had any
success purchasing fishing licenses on the internet at
www.bcs.gob.mx? I have
tried with Safari, Foxfire and Internet Explorer. All of these
browsers return a "server not found" error when you go to the link
to pay by credit card.
The usual vendors do not have licenses to sell and I am told the web

Just to let
you know that there is a current scam, similar to ones noted
on the BPE earlier.
I received a phone call on our landline, he said “Good news,
I’m coming back to Cabo, I arrive tomorrow”. I assumed it
was my son-in-law and said I would meet him at the airport
if he gave me his flight info, he said he would call back as
soon as he booked the ticket. He called back later and I
realized it was not who I thought it was, so I asked his
name which he gave as Mike Miesner, I could not recall the
name, but since I meet a lot of people and tend to forget
easily that did not really surprise me, just somewhat
puzzled. The next morning he called again to say that he was
now in Mexico City and had booked a flight to Cabo, and so
we made arrangements for meeting at the airport. A while
later he called again to say that there might be a delay
because the airline would not accept U.S. dollars and that
is all he had, and if I would send him $1,000 worth of pesos
he would pay me back when we met at the airport. He also
said something about owing taxes, not sure what that meant.
I just said that I could not help him because I didn’t have
any money, and after a few minutes of dialog he hung up.
He may have obtained my name and phone number from a
vacation rental website that we advertise on. The number he
called from is (331) 322-6628, Chicago area code.
