I am interested in finding a credit card company
that won't decline our charges in Cabo and Los Barriles when we
first arrive in Mexico. We have used Alaska Airlines B of A Visa and
Chase Visa in the past but both are now declining our initial
charges. We call the credit card companies ahead of our travel dates
while still in the States, provide them the dates of our travel and
where we will be making purchases in Cabo, and they still decline
the charges. This is after they assure us they won't decline the
charges but it is an automatic process. This has made for some
uncomfortable situations at Home Depot, Costco, etc. What happens is
they want us to contact them and let them know it is us when we are
at the store but sometimes there is no internet or cell reception
which makes it impossible. We have spoken to supervisors and fraud
departments to no avail. I understand we could put $ on a prepaid
card but wondered if anyone out there had a good line on a credit
card company that is foreign charge friendly with not too much of a
foreign transaction fee?
