RECYCLING NEWS - ‘Just say NO to Styrofoam’ Polystyrene, known as Styrofoam, is toxic waste that fills up to 30% of landfills and takes 500 years to decompose. When burned, fumes are extremely toxic! HELP ELIMINATE STYROFOAM FROM OUR COMMUNITY. Ask restaurants and merchants to STOP serving food in Styrofoam. BETTER YET, bring your own REUSABLE food containers for take-out. VOLUNTEERS!! If you love the idea of keeping Baja beautiful, please consider joining us! We need energetic, enthusiastic and creative people who believe we can do good things and have fun doing them! Every month we need volunteers to receive recycle materials from town participants and process them by seperating, stomping, crushing, and packing them for their trip to the recycling program drop-off point in San Jose del Cabo. This takes us between 1 and 2 hours and we can always use more smiling faces! If you can only come for a short time, we will still be thrilled to see you. And, if you would like more information on exactly how ECRB works, you can read our story in our 2012 Annual Report (found here) or contact Lynn Mirassou: lynnmirassou@gmail.com
