I found this adorable puppy 3 days ago in the arroyo here in LB.
She is really sweet, potty trained, happy, healthy and not a biter
like my first Puppy. This is the 2nd puppy I found this month. I

Last Wednesday as we were returning home from San Jose (north of the
Miraflores turnoff), we saw this tiny pup sitting in our lane on the
highway. We stopped to rescue her and before we could get back to
her, a big ready-mix cement truck came barreling over the hill
towards us. As we watched in horror, she started toddling across
into the truck’s lane. We both had to cover our eyes because we knew
she was going to turn into a road pancake. When the truck went by
and we didn’t hear any screams or thumps, we looked up and there she
was, sitting in the middle of the road, looking around, her eyes
wide with fear. (I think she was probably saying to herself, “Wow,
what was that? I probably should have been afraid of it!”) I ran out
and grabbed her before she could run away and now I have a new baby

Departure Message from Ranger: As I write this it is my first day
back in the Pacific NW. What a contrast: it was 92 degrees when I
caught the plane San Jose and 48 when I got home last night. Still,
spring has sprung and it's quite beautiful here at my home in the
woods (except for the overgrown lawn that may require weed-eating
prior to mowing). Thanks to all I met in my 6 weeks in Los Barriles
this time, especially to all the fabulous musicians who I was
fortunate enough to share a stage with at the Roadrunner's Open Mic
and elsewhere. Plus, I want to extend an especial Thank You to Dr.
Pier and Mary Jean for their excellent dental work. Who would have
thought getting 13 crowns could be made into an enjoyable
experience?! Hope to see y'all next year, Ranger

How many of you have the Ask Tool Bar or Ask Search engine?
Well it's easy to get if you don't read carefully the
checked boxes when you download or update almost anything
these days. If you update Java (and you should), then you
probably have the Ask Tool bar if you didn't uncheck the
box. There are several ways to remove it. At the top of
your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome) right
click over the Ask Tool Bar then deselect (left click to
remove check mark). You can also go to Control Panel and
use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the tool bar. Windows
8 users, just start typing "uninstall" and you should find
the uninstaller. Why is the Ask Tool Bar there, excellent
question and I'm glad you asked. Money! "Ask" gets a small
payment for providing the search engine that takes you to a
web site.
Windows XP users, you have less that one year remaining
for support. Mid-April of next year Microsoft will end all
support for Windows XP. No more patches or system updates.
Yes, you can continue to use it beyond April 2014 but there is a
small security risk. New programs may not be written to include
Windows XP. Having said that, I plan to keep one machine
running XP with legacy software.

Hola Amigos,
In behalf of the East Cape Fishing Club, I would like to thank
every each of you who made this years the Dia del Niño Torneo de
Pesca 2013 possible. Thanks to all the donators, because of you
we were able to end up with a total of 150+ gifts for the little
kids of our community, and to Kathy Skaggs, Jorge Ayala, Mark
Templeton and Bill & Fran for the entry donation. Also a big
thank to our sponsors of this year t-shirts: LB Property
Services, Bahia Real Estate & Construction, Unique Beautiful
Livable Designs, Rochin Olachea Contadores and Hotel Buenavista
Beach Resort. Many thanks to all the volunteers on the day of
the event, specially to Francis Olachea on the mic, Noe Verdugo
who donated the DJ service, the Buenavista Delegacion and Robin
Wade on the camera. To all the members of the Club who were in
charge of promoting the event. And most of all to all the people
who put their boat out and took kids out fishing. It was an
amazing event, we grow from last year 50%, this means 78 kids
out there fishing enjoying the most valuable asset of our
beautiful East Cape.
We encourage you all to participate next year, this tournament
will be done always on the last Sunday of April, you wont
regret, seeing those little kids so happy with their catches and
gifts is speechless.
Thanks to all for your support, and we invite to join our local
fishing Club and be part of it.
