Night: Final ticket sales at the Road Runner Cafe in the Plaza are
on Tuesday and Wednesday the 19th and 20th from 8 to 11 AM. Cut off
date for all ticket sales is the 20th. Again, they can be purchased
anytime during business hours at Baja Beach Company and the office
of Homes and Land of Baja until Wednesday the 20th. If you
volunteered to help us out at Monte Carlo Night, the event begins at
5:00. Set up is scheduled at 12:00, Door people and first shift
of bartenders, please be there at 4:30. Dealers should arrive by
5:00 please, as the first shift of dealing is from 5:30 to 7:30.
Second shift is 7:30 to 9:30. If you're not sure what you have
volunteered for or cannot fulfill your commitment, please contact

Has anyone written in about theft in the neighborhood behind El
Barrilto? I'm curious if anyone else has items missing? I wanted to
wait until I got the facts straight first and the police station is
closed tomorrow...but basically last week (Friday) there was a guy
in a faded brown/gray van who was stealing items from our yards (SUP
paddle, car battery, propane cylinder, and lawn mower!). He was
caught because of some watchful neighbors...he even told them that
it was ok (to take the lawnmower in this case!) that the owner
needed it, but the neighbors found the owner and told him and the
thief was caught with the items in his van. He was held in jail, but
he's been released now while awaiting prosecution. So, there's a
thief out there. Be diligent! He's a young (18-20 years old), chunky
Mexican and several folks around town have helped him by giving his

I just "discovered" AVIS car rental as a place to park at airport!
$3/day, fenced but not covered. You go into the office, fill out
the form, pay and then park your car in the lot adjacent.
They take you to the airport in their shuttles When you return, go
to the Avis desk and tell them you have a car parked. Get on the
shuttle and off you go. Couldn't be easier and their shuttles run
as long as the airport is open. Worked great for me!
