Windows 8.1, the major upgrade to Windows 8 was release just
in the past couple of days. It has been removed for
installation due to problems encountered in a number of
different platforms. As always, it's better to wait a couple of
months for the dust to settle on any major release by either
Apple or Microsoft. When it becomes available again and you are
desperate, you will find that upgrade in the "Store" not in
System Updates. I did upgrade to 8.1 with a few minor issues
and one as yet to be resolved by Microsoft. I will update soon
with some of the changes as I discover them for myself.

Sargento will be hosting the biggest mountain bike race ever for
this area. For the past two years I've been racing with a team
in La Paz and every race has 200 to 300 riders in attendance -
expect the same for this event. Posters have been put up around
town announcing the event and if anyone is interested in racing
I'm able to show you the course and give a few insider tips.

Lord of the Wind 2014 - Rotary is very excitied to again be
hosting LOW.
The schedule is as follows:
o Jan 22nd Lord of the Wind Registration at the Rotary
Technology Center, from 2pm to 6pm.
o Jan 23rd The first ever Tamale Cook Off contest, hosted by the
Fathers Association (PTA) from 6pm to 9pm in the Concha next to
the Technology Center. Come enjoy the best Tamales on the East
Cape and support our local schools.
o Jan 24th Day 1 of racing takes place at the beach at the South
side of the Southern arroyo in Los Barriles.
o Day 2 of racing, again on the waters in front of the beach
venue.
o Jan 25th Following the great day of racing the community is
invited to Buena Vista Beach Resorts for their second annual
Reggae Rocking party.
o Day 3 of racing takes place at the beach at the South side of
the Southern arroyo.
o Jan 26th Bonfire beach party.
o Our first SUP race starts at 8am, leaving from the beach venue
and traveling up the coast to a mark upwind and then a long
downwind run to the finish line.
o Come see the kid’s kite flying at 9am and also enjoy a
community pancake breakfast. After the breakfast our final day
of racing begins.
o The Awards and Community Party will be held in the new park
and will be a traditional Fiesta.

the grand opening of Sabaidee Bistro and were
pleasantly impressed. What a great
change...something new. The samples were
VERY flavorful. The food, all being prepared by
Peter, is very similar to Thai cuisine, using lots
of fresh vegetables, good spice blends and enough
meats for good flavoring without bulk. We can't
wait for them to open full time. Bridgette told me
they'll open this
coming Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
and will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11
till
7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on
