Just went to CA DMV to fight not having smog for
vehicle registration. The girl behind the counter gave me a copy
from their Registration Manual for "exemption of smog". I took that
up to the counter with my registration and Statement of Facts and
walked out the door 4 minutes later with sticker and paid
registration in hand. The only question I was asked was where is the
car and how far is that. DONE! I have a copy of the Exemption
paper, if anyone would like to have please email me and I will scan
and send to you. Also, I will be in LB

researcher Urmas Kaldveer kayaks out from El Cardonal to greet,
photograph, and study them. Professor Kaldveer has a dream. Working
with the secondary school of El Cardonal and The Universidad
Autonoma de Baja
Calfornia Sur, the professor is raising funds to create a research
and higher education facility in El Cardonal for the study of the

Road Report: Staff gave
us good directions to the toll road. A heavily loaded Ford with
too many goodies. But zero problems. The unusual, heavy fog
slowed our travel so we slept at GNegro at Las Dunas motel for
$245mn double with 2 dogs. Not fancy but clean and has reading
lights at beds. The fog continued most of the way even all the
way across Viscaino. There were repairs and easily drivable
detours though. Slept in CConstitucion at the Oasis 3 blocks
off the highway. Double, 2 dogs, fluffier towels a bit more
money. Left
Monday morning (still in the
fog!) through a very long road redo. Returned to East Cape via
San Lucas as our migration docs were due for renewal. Good to be
