participants should gather at the fountain about 3:45 and we will
assemble the parade. The parade ends at the Park with a Student Food

4) It's Caffè Encinalito's
last Saturday market of the season! We brought a limited quantity of
green beans down with us and are now at the end of our supply. Join
us on Saturday in the new park for a "flojo" (a shot of coffee over
ice with cream) and grab the last of our locally roasted coffee.

c. This morning at 0400 (am, early)
The Southern Cross was fully visible a bit above the horizon,
almost due south here in Las Brisas. There is a fairly high
ridge a mile or so away that blocks the true horizon, to there
may be better viewing spots. I think it will be around for
awhile and viewing times will changes. Does anybody know how to
determine when it will rise and set over the next few weeks?

d. Need help on how you deal with
the police asking for donations. In the past the police have
come to my house in Buenos Aires asking for donations (Christmas
party, gasoline, etc). I had no problem with that because I
would see them drive by my house almost daily. This year the
only time I see them is when they stop by for a friendly chat to
ask for money. One younger officer in particular stops by saying
he doesn't have enough gas for his truck - when I told him that
I gave my donation already he then asks for coca-cola (which I
don't have) then asks for monies for lunch to get something to
eat, etc. I don't want to do something rash and be on their "no
help" radar, but I'm not happy with the rarity of their presence
in the neighborhood unless its to ask for money. How do you
deal with this? Please post your answer to BPE. Anonymous (for
