1) Important for Mac users! Yes we have three! (that my wife
knows about). Apple is ending support for Snow Leopard - 10.6.8. To
check your version of the operating system, click on the Apple
symbol, then "About this Mac". If you see 10.6.8, you need to
upgrade if you meet the minimum system requirements. There are
several ways to upgrade to Mavericks, their new operating system
named after the California surfing location. One way is to go to the
App Store and download the free upgrade. Now the bad news. If you
have an earlier Mac, Apple has determined that your system will not
handle the upgrade. The early "MacIntel" chip sets are not eligible
- Core Duo. Core 2 Duo and faster are fine. As we all know there are
few if any viruses in the wild that affect Macs. Having said that,
there was a security patch recently released for all operating
systems except Snow Leopard. Again, I have not heard of any
impending threats. Sadly, one of my Macs will not upgrade.
2) Very important - There is a security flaw that affects all
Mac platforms. If you are using any Mac device which includes Ipad,
Iphones, or computers, you need to download and install the newest
security patch and/or software update. The flaw affects the security
of banking connections and many other secure connections!!! The
unpatched flaw can allow hackers to tinker with your data.
