Note: Starting today, I am going
to pretty much slow down on reports relating to Odile. There
are a few loose ends, electricity and airports but with the cell
phones working and elec. on it's way I'm sure everyone is now
communicating personally with family and friends. Roads sound good
except for maybe LB to Cabo but there's not much reason to go there
anyway for the time being. Airports are a big issue so when someone
actually flies into SJD or LAP on commercial let us know ASAP!
A lot of people signed up to receive the BPE because of the storm
and if you're not a "regular" please feel free to unsubscribe.
Send an email with Unsubscribe on the subject line.
I'm hoping later on some of our survivors will tell their stories
for the BPE. They are a tough bunch and went through a lot. Of
course, as always, if you have any new info, please pass it on
to the BPE.
And...a great big thank you to everyone who provided great info and
pictures. We are a Team!

Any word about electricity being restored to La
Ribera and Lighthouse? They don't want to be forgotten!

Alaska just cancelled our tickets on the 21st of
October. Anyone driving down to the East Cape from Northern
California with room for 2 adults (both experienced drivers of the
peninsula)? Alanpomeroy@gmail.com

There are two options as of right now: fly to San Diego, cross the
border to TJ, and fly Volaris, Air Califia, Interjet, or Aero Mexico
to La Paz. Or fly from wherever to La Paz. Won't be the shortest
flight or the least expensive but if someone really needs to get
here, those will be the best options as of now. La Paz airport is
open and operating.
The Mexicans and their families are the worst affected here. There
is no work so they have no money and cannot buy food.
Many people that are not here have opened their hearts and their
pantries to these folks who work for us at various jobs. Many, many
thanks to these kind-hearted souls who, even though not here
physically, are still thinking of others and are trying help those
less fortunate.

CFE (Electric Company) is staying with us tonight!
We open our home, hearts and restaurant here at
Buenavista Beach Resort to these 41 dedicated, HARD
working guys that will be working here the next few
days to restore power to us!
Bless their hearts, they have been stuck since
Thursday on the mainland at the ferry. The soldiers
and Red Cross had first dibs on seats.
They will be working on putting up a new tower north
of us around San Bartolo. The work should take 2 to
3 days and then we should have power! Amen!

Baja Mexico Relief
Perhaps those of us in the States could
solicit help in our communities such as
churches, schools, other charitable
organizations. I have spoken to a few and
they are willing to help out. We could even
reach out to other people on our email list
and ask them to solicit help from
organizations in their community.
There have been some charitable
organizations mentioned in recent BPE so
send these to the people who can help.
Let's not forget the four legged friends.
Go to Los Cabos Humane Society, they have
great pictures of destruction and of areas
where the volunteers homes have been
destroyed. They have a PAYPAL account.
