RECYCLE NEWS!! It's OSCAR TIME, and East Cape Recycling Baja will be "Movie Central" for the next 3 months! This is a great year for movies and we have a terrific line up, with TWO Oscar Nominated films in the months of February, March and April! On Thursday, February 12, we will screen "The Theory of Everything", the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde, the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960's. Though brilliant, little was expected of Hawking as he was diagnosed of a fatal illness at age 21 and given two years to live (he turned 73 in January!) It is nominated for 5 Oscars, including Best Picture! You may place your low-backed chairs as early as 5:30 for a 7pm start. A big thank you to East Cape Casas & RV Resort for donating their beautiful, star-lit pool area for our fundraisers (entrance is across from the Modelorama). ERCB is a 100% volunteer organization that funds our monthly recycling program and environmental education in our schools. We will be selling our hot-buttered and sea-salted popcorn, wine, beer and water and request a $70 peso donation at the door. See you there!! Questions: lynnmirassou@gmail.com

 1)  We would like to thank the Los Cabo Humane Society for providing two vets for our successful spay/ neuter clinic yesterday. We had 40 animals tended to by 40 volunteers including many from the windsurfing/ kitting segment of our community. A special thanks to Dr. Dan Treat for volunteering to work with the other vets. Vickie Heaps again for grooming the matted hairy dogs. There were too many to be able to list names, and Cheryl wants this to be kept short, but we could not have been as successful without all giving loving care to the animals. gracias, thank you.

2)  What an awesome day we all had helping out those Fur Faces-dogs and cats in need of spaying or neutering. One fine male was even brought from the dump - he was then taken and given a good flea and tick bath (no ticks found) he even had a happy tail when he felt so clean-then the neutering, well that wasn't so happy but in the end a wagging tail to me when he slowly came to.
Now we need to find a permanent home for this beautiful spirited guy and temporarily a foster home. If you would like to help this medium sized dog-black and rusty in color and a small lab like face please call or email me. vickieaheaps@gmail.com  141-0341 It would complete the happy day we all had. Want to give the community a giant shout out, for coming out, to the Los Barriles Community Market the past couple of Saturdays. Wow rain!!!! It didn't stop a lot of shoppers, or vendors. The weather is forecasted to be sunny this weekend, so we hope to see you all there on Saturday morning. You could get an early start on your Valentine shopping, listen to some music, eat some food, pick up your vegetables, breads, and a whole lot more. We really do appreciate the support, thank you.
