a. ATM Discussion;
1) I also was
compromised at Scotia Bank across from WalMart last Tuesday as were
two other friends of mine the same day. We were also told they could
not connect with our banks and no money was dispensed. When I
checked the following morning I was charged $349 US. I called my two
friends, and after they checked they were both also charged money to
their accounts. I went into the bank and talked to the manager and
she showed absolutely no concern and told me I would have to settle
this with my bank. I talked to another friend and the same thing
happened on Monday. Fortunately my bank, Chase, gave me immediate
credit but my friends have to go through much paper work in the
states.

2) On 3/5 I returned to Scotia Bank and spoke with the
on site manager - Stephanie Arreola - about the error. I showed her
a printout of my account transactions, and told her that I had
notified them of the error. She told me in fluent and rapid spanish
that that was the correct action, and that these problems are
addressed from the customer's home bank. It is a standard interbank
protocol that
resolves these type of issues. Banks have data glitches just like
the rest of us digital denizens. She was very polite and did not
seem to think there would be any problem. P.S. To Ron on East Cape -

c. I will be entering Mexico
Monday or Tuesday March 23 or 24, 2015. This will be my first
driving thru Baja trip. In our pickup which will be towing a boat I
will be accompanied by my brother in law and a 4# toy poodle. I
would like to draw on the many Baja experiences out there that you
might want to share. Any advice would greatly contribute towards
decreasing my stress level. I would like to hear about entering
Mexico tips; restaurant, fuel (diesel) and motel stops. Probably
stopping at Guerrero Negro first night and then on into LB. This is
not cast in stone so any information will be appreciated. I believe
