We are three days away from the 4th Annual Kids Tournament from our East Cape Fishing Club. We would like to thank all of you that have donate all the toys that we already have, its amazing to receive all the support from you and specially when it goes directly to the all those children on their special day. Remember if you would like to donate toys or fishing tackle you can leave it at Seven Seas Property in Los Barriles or at Front desk of Hotel Buenavista Beach Resort, the more we get the more we can give away.
The schedule for this tournament is the following: Saturday starting at 3pm at Lazy Daze we have the sign ups and t-shirt give aways. Sunday fishing is from 7am to 12pm. Shotgun start right in front of Lazy Daze beach.

Google just announced the release of their new cell phone service called "Project Fi". The service will cost $20 per month for unlimited talk and text with data costs of $10 per GB. If you buy more data than you use, the unused funds will be refunded. The system will run on the T Mobile or Sprint network. It will change carriers to get the best coverage. When you are in a WiFi environment, the system will transfer to WiFi for everything. That saves data charges. Google offers international roaming talk and data with free international texting. International calls are 20 cents per minute. Best I can tell, if you are on WiFi and you call the US from anywhere in the world, it’s a free call. Police Bribe Attempt Once Again In La Paz - A bribe extortion was attempted on my friend at the state police check point just outside La Paz. The "infraction" was a small dog on her lap and "by law the dog should be in a kennel". The fine was 600 pesos. Luckily her husband, the driver, did not pull over and so the cars were backing up. She got so pissed off she waved a 100 peso bill out the car window for all to see and yelled "No No No No Bueno!" The extortion was visible to all and so they waved them thru. Bravo, well done. ☞ Name Withheld

     A toll road is when a line of brick and mortar booths is built across a highway and there are official looking posted signs announcing the amount you are to pay. Then there is a guy inside the little booth who gives you a receipt. This is a toll booth.
     The check points the state police are manning just south of La Paz are to catch drug guys, they are not to be confused with toll booths.
     Lately, some of the state police manning these check points are demanding money from motorists. They will trump some infraction up like a loose dog in the car or even no seat belt on. Yes the seat belt thing is an infraction and can earn you a ticket, but you do not pay the ticket on the spot. You go down to the police station later, at your convenience, and pay a very modest fine.
     Don’t pay anything at these temporary, moveable police check points. If you feed these thieves you have nobody to blame for your loss but yourself.
