The East Cape Guild will be holding the 2015 Scholarship Award
Ceremony on FRIDAY, MAY 15, at the cancha in Los Barriles at 5:30
pm. This is the opportunity to see all the hard working students
receive their award certificates and to be entertained by student
dancers and singers. There will be 150 students receiving
scholarships this year. There are another 35 students who qualified
and will be receiving academic awards but not scholarships because
the costs exceeded the funds this year. To help prevent that from
happening next year please contribute to our GoFundMe campaign being

The scammers are at work! Received a phone call that
was muffled says he was member of our family and were down for a
wedding in Todo Santos. They were coming over to see us. Next call
there had been a fender bender and now a man needed money sent to a
Banamex Oxxo account. To get our relatives free, they needed the
deductible for his insurance. They were good at filling in
information that we eluded to or else they already knew. I have the
account number and a name. We asked to speak to our relative and
they hung up as if it was another bad connection. Then they called
back and the supposed relative was on the phone, but since I was
talking to the relatives in Utah we knew it was a scam then. Glad I
have skype. They use a phone sound that is unclear so you are
questioning all the time who you are talking to. His name was Jim
Watson married to a Mexican wife and his account number was
520-416-4921-00-1696 at Oxxo. Don't know if anything can be done
other than beware.
