Strength Training w/Annalisa: Strong muscles, Strong bones:
Annalisa's strength training classes will be held on Tuesdays and
Fridays from 9:50-10:50. . This isn't anything you would find at
your local gym. Participants cycle around eight stations, each with
its own menu of lifts or exercises that you can choose among. You
determine what you can perform, and track your own improvement. Each
station has options to accommodate your personal needs, quirks or
challenges. Four of the stations will have "slow sets." This is
lifting done very slowly, to challenge every muscle fiber involved,
but not to stress the joints. The "core work-out" stations will
include a kettlebell option (check it out on Youtube!) and a TRX-type
of option. Bone strengthening exercise is something we all need, and
we'll make it fun, with good music, in a supportive, non-competitive
atmosphere. No prior experience is necessary. End with a thorough
stretch, and you're good-to-go for the afternoon.
