toll road new slippage. As reported on

This area is about 4 KM north of the Ensenada toll booth.
Mextrans has been studying and surveying the area about 6KM north of
this area.
The slippage is directly above the Playa Saldamando family camping
area.
You can clearly see the roadbed guardrails have slipped west about
40 cm (16 inches).

Baja
Night Sky # 83, Jan. 11, 2016 -- The Five Visible Planets,
Southern Cross, and Largest Globular Cluster. There are no visible
planets in the evening sky now, but you can still enjoy the familiar
constellation Orion, brightest star in the sky Sirius, and other
stars and constellations of the Winter Circle. 1) Now is the time to
get up between 5:30 and 6 am to see 4 of the visible planets. And
beginning January 23, for several weeks you can see all 5 visible
planets in one sweep of the morning sky, the first time this has
been possible in more than 11 years. Find very bright Venus low in
the SE sky. Just above Venus at the 1 o'clock position is Saturn. A
line from Venus through Saturn extended in an arc takes you to red
Mars farther to the SE. Continue about the same distance to bright
Jupiter higher in the sky. With binoculars see if you can spot the
rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter. After January 23rd,
Mercury will begin to appear just below Venus at the 7 o'clock
position. 6:00 AM will be a better time to spot Mercury. 2) While
you are up so early in the morning, look directly south. Sitting
less than a fist above the horizon, find the Southern Cross. 3) Now
extend a line from the bottom star of the Cross through the left
crossbar star and continue 4-5 times the distance between the two
stars. With binoculars, scan the region where your line ended,
looking for a fuzzy patch of light the size of the moon. The fuzzy
patch is a globular cluster known as Omega Centauri, the largest of
150 or so such clusters orbiting around the center of our galaxy,
but outside of the galaxy itself most of the time. Omega Centauri is
a ball of some 10 million stars. There are two stars just to the
left of the bottom of the Cross. The fainter of the two is Proxima
Centauri, closest star to our Sun. Tom at
