She has completed her blood work, full-series of shots, worming/flea/tick treatments and is newly spayed: she's a VERY smart, healthy 5 mos. old pup. Solita is well-socialized both with other dogs and children.  She is short-haired and will be about 40# when grown. Guess what? I haven't heard her bark but once in 3 months! Her yard is not fenced and she does not wander.  Her care-person is 83 years old, fell and broke his hip so is not able to keep her: he is sad but knows it's best for Solita. BASEBALL CAMP in Santiago, Saturday, April 2nd, 9am - 1pm. We will have our 4th Sawyers Camp in Santiago to a group of kids that have patiently waited 2 years for us to come. You don't need to be a pro ball player or speak Spanish. You just need to want to help kids learn the game. We have coaches for the 3 areas of learning, and we just need assistants- even need assistants in the snacks area! We can carpool there, or you can drive yourself. Baja Night Sky #93, Monday, March 28: 1) The International Space Station makes a bright pass over the Cape Region tonight. It emerges from Earth's shadow in the SW at 7:32pm, passes beneath Sirius at 7:34pm, above Jupiter at 7:36pm, then disappears into Earth's shadow in the NE at 7:37pm. This is one of many passes the ISS makes over our area this week to study the Zodiacal Light, a phenomenon that is easiest to see in early Spring & Fall, but requires very dark skies. Just as the setting sun illuminates dust in the atmosphere to produce the Belt of Venus in the east, it also illuminates interplanetary dust orbiting the sun between planets from Mercury to Jupiter. This forms a faint conical or triangular glow rising in the west between an hour and two hours after sunset. Look for it above the western horizon around 8pm this week. To facilitate seeing it, the crew requests that all outdoor lights be turned off after nightfall tonight through the celebration of April 1st Day on Friday :-) 3) Cloudy weather prevented seeing Earth's Shadow and the Belt of Venus Friday as described in BNS #92. d.  Industrial plastic water storage cube thingie. Holds about 250 gallons of water, has a ​tubelike opening at the top for putting the water in, and a valve contraption at the bottom for letting the water out. I used it for watering the garden. Sorta translucent plastic in a very light metal basket, with a hard plastic base. One part of the metal basket got bent when we moved it, but I think you could hammer it back into place pretty easy. Doesn't affect the function at all, but it ain't pretty. Low price of 0 Mexican-American plants. Yep, free. You pick up. Bring a couple of strong folks with you.
