A Weekly
Chat With Francis: I would like to thank everyone for
their support over the past few months in my role as Mayor. We are
keen to share all the developments and plans for Los Barriles and
the area with you, so we have organized a series of community
meetings throughout 2016. The first one is on February 24th at
9.30am in the Parque de La Laguna (Saturday Market venue). It is
also Flags Day in Mexico. The second is on April 18th at 9.30am, and
the third is on June 6th at 9.30am. I very much look forward to
meeting many of you at these meetings, and I would like to encourage
you to bring friends and neighbors with you so that we can all share
in the future of our beautiful town and surrounding area. In the

A good friend to the community, Cesar Lucero Burquez, from El
Cardonal, has received bad news. Cesar has been diagnosed with
leukemia. He will begin treatment soon. Treatment is very expensive
and time-consuming. Cesar, a top-notch welder and mechanic, will not
be able to work for some time. His family of six will need
assistance from the community. We have started a fundraising
campaign to help them out. Please consider a donation to help Cesar
and his family through this very difficult time.
We all have the means to make this a lot less scary for
him and his family. With a generous contribution you can help
provide him with a much needed boost.
You can drop off your contribution at Homes and Land
Real Estate in Los Barriles. Simply tell the office the contribution
is for Cesar Lucero Burquez. In the event you are not in Baja you
can make a contribution by visiting any Wells Fargo Bank. Please
