(COVID-19) situation closely. The health and safety of our clients and
employees remain our top priority. Our staff is already trained to OSHA
and other standards with respect to workplace health and safety. As
such, our current operations already implements many of the
measures recommended by government and public health agencies in
response to coronavirus. We are, however, implementing additional
measures in response to coronavirus.
These additional measures include:
• Regularly disinfecting our clinics and pharmacy and office
spaces with high-grade disinfecting cleaner meeting government
guidelines.
• Increasing accessibility of hand sanitizers for clients and
employees at multiple stations in the medical /dental clinics and
pharmacy.
• Increasing regular deep cleanings of our clinics and pharmacy.
• Ensuring our employees have the information they need to stay
healthy or stay home if they feel unwell.
• Decreasing the risk for clients to employees by using masks and
gloves.
• Closely monitoring a variety of sources for the latest updates and
recommendations for managing this situation.
• We take pride in our integrity of knowing how to manage
suspicious patients so we do not offend anyone seeking medic

b.  Sadly, the Feeding the Hungry Fashion Show committee has decided to postpone the show scheduled for March 20 at La Playa Restaurant in Los Barriles.  There is concern in our community, as elsewhere around the world, that we stop large public gatherings for the time being.  Even though the Corona Virus is not evident in BCS, we felt we should act on the side of caution and hold off on having the show until next November or December.  We hope you understand.  If you have bought a ticket and would like a refund, please go back to where you bought it with ticket in hand by March 20th to receive a full refund.  If you’d like to make your ticket a donation to the Feeding the Hungry Funds, just hang onto your ticket and we’ll use the money to help those who need it the most.  Watch for further posts regarding non-perishable food donations and or money donations to feed the hungry in Los Barriles.  Thank you very, very much for your consideration. – purkeybh@gmail.com

a.  Are you in Los Barriles and need to get to San Diego, (or anywhere else in the USA) but won’t fly now?  A new service for our community is now available.  We will safely transport you, your family or group up to 4 via Mexican Highway 1 in a Suburban.  The standard road trip is 2 days, about 10 hours each, with an overnight stop in Guerro Negro and drop off in San Diego County the next day.  A custom trip with a different pick up point in BCS or drop off point in the USA or a larger group is available, including pick up in the USA and drop off in BCS.  Contact us for reservations and pricing. – mailbarriles@gmail.com

b.  Almost every single car rental agency in the U.S. is now represented at the Los Cabos airport, and all you have to do is go online and Google “Car rentals Los Cabos Airport” and you can pretty much take your pick. Make SURE that you get the international link. You WILL NOT want to rent without at least liability insurance, but you will be pressured to get full coverage, and it’s not a bad idea, considering you will be held accountable for any damage regardless of fault, but while you might get the daily car rental for $8 or $10, the insurance could be $20 to $40 a day more!!! Weekly rates are cheaper, and make sure you shop the various agencies, since those that have a physical structure at the airport are more expensive than those that have a shuttle to an off-airport office. Make sure you inspect the vehicle with the agent before you drive off and make sure that all damage, including windshield chips, are noted on the inspection sheet. Bill

b.  Capsforcancerbaja just visited the Rehabilitation Center CRIT  in La Paz. It caters to over 600 children and their families. It is a state of the art facility. We as a group donated and distributed caps, blankets, scarves and ponchos to the children at this amazing facility. If you have even one ball of yarn to donate to us we will make more caps. We also distributed a very large donation of bedding, household goods and a TV to Groupo Reto ( for the women with Cancer). Thank you so much to the donors of these goods. The women will be thrilled to open the bags of goodies. Thirdly we made a visit to Casa Cuna and donated full tubs  of handmade caps, blankets and ponchos for the orphans. a.  Warning to dog lovers.
This morning our dog Lexie almost lost her life when she picked up a dead puffer fish on the walking beach in LB. The sharp spines of the fish got lodged in her throat and it was impossible to pull out. Lexie started choking and almost asphyxiated, but miraculously was finally able to swallow the fish whole. Dr. Gretel did emergency surgery this morning to remove it and Lexie is now recovering at the clinic.
I ask everyone who is walking on the beach or anywhere in town, if you see a dead puffer fish on the ground to please pick it up and put it safely in the garbage. You might be saving a dog’s life.
Thank you so much to the wonderful lady on the quad with three kids and two dogs for picking us up and helping us get to the hospital faster. b.  CREDIT CARD DISCUSSIONS:   (1) Suggestion for credit card-debit number theft mitigation.     Since most are cards are chipped now i read about covering up your pin number and I added cover your last couple of numbers with tape.     IE people behind you can be snapping high-resolution photos of your card as you put it in the reader or at atms people set up cameras.    So I put that blue tapes that is removable for painting and you can remove it if needed.   But so far at all ATMs and businesses no problem with having the tape. – dean@mosquitoswithoutborders.com

(2)  The problem is if you don’t have an RFID blocking wallet you’re broadcasting your credit card information to people, even the wrong people. There are devices that collect this information when in close proximity ex. Walking down an isle of a store. Etc.

(3)  Same result, ours was Am Express and charges were to FB advertising, perhaps just trying it out for $15, $35. I suggest cash for Home Depot.  Someone is not playing it straight.
