a.   Heads Up…. More road work next week… the Quadman ATV Rental supported road work continues next week. The Main Street by the elementary school is almost finished. Next week we will be repairing the bus parking lot entry across the street from Chapitos. This is a busy intersection see PLEASE watch out for our road crew! b.  Car Rental Answer:  Renting a car one way? Just a note from past experience, if you rent a car “for a few day” and drop it off in a different location, then want to rent one back under the same circumstance later, you will probably find you can rent that car for longer term and return it to original location for much less money….Check out the weekly rental rate before you go for original idea…Bill

d.  Dialing 800 numbers – from the Gringo Gazette:  Mexico blocks toll free calls to the United States, which is frustrating to us, as most of our banks, credit card companies, and large businesses only provide us with toll free numbers.  But we have a work around.  Dial 880 if your toll-free number begins with 800. Dial 881 for an 888 number. Dial 882 for an 877 number and dial 883 for all 866 numbers.  Talk fast because these numbers are not toll free. And yeah, we know any business that deals in toll frees doesn’t have a live person answering the phone, so good luck with making it a speedy call.

EVENTS

a.  Sign up for the Pescadero Poker Run this Monday, May 21st at Roadrunner 10am-1pm!  Necessary to have some idea of numbers so there will  be enough beer (and water!)  $200ps for expenses and prize money.  This is not a race.  There are various stops where you receive a playing card.  Best poker hand wins.

a.  The men and women of the East Cape Guild would like to invite you to attend our Scholarship Award Ceremony this Saturday, May 19, at 6:00pm at the cancha in Los Barriles.  This year we will be awarding full tuition and transportation scholarships to 203 top achieving high school students.  The ceremony will also include local students dancing and entertaining the audience.  Come out to celebrate these hard working students.

b.  The title of Sunday’s message at East Cape Christian Fellowship is “The Problem With Jesus”.  Service begins at 9 AM at our sanctuary located on the paved road 200 yards on the Tio Pablo’s side of the post office. Everyone is welcome.
