b.  New pet regulations:  Mexico has informed the US Public Health Service that the Mexican border officials will no longer honor “incomplete” health certificates. How vigorously this will be enforced remains to be seen, as most people that have been bringing pets into Mexico for some time can testify – most of the time no one even asks for papers. However, that being said, if you do get checked at the border and no not have the proper paperwork, you have a big problem. South down to Puertocitos smooth sailing. @Puertocitos x 50 miles south, bad road conditions, lots of detours, damage from hurricanes, but all passable. Connector to highway 1 only 16 miles of dirt road, not significant change otherwise. Highway 1 south excellent roads.

Breakfast was served with  frijoles, chilaquilles and hand made flour tortillas.  The food was excellent (one of us almost licked the plate)  She is in the little corral across from Tienda Popular, next to what was once called Japoness.

b.  Let’s talk security cameras. I use four different types but I will only mention the two easiest to use. For cloud storage and monitoring, I use outdoor Nest Cams. The Nest Cams record to servers and store for 7 days in the cloud with a subscription. You also get alerts where there is motion. I have used Nest for over 7 years and they all still work. The Nest cams require a lot of upstream internet (bandwidth) so that limits your internet when you are at home (Baja). When I’m home (Baja), I switch to Wyze Cams. I use the Wyze Cams in local recording mode to a 32 GB SD card purchased separately. The Wyze Cam can be set to record only on motion and send an alert to your phone. Great quality! Both cameras can be setup to share access and recording. The downside to the Wyze is the difficulty accessing them while in the US – too long to explain. Facebook recently had 50 million users’ data hacked. The big deal was the exposure of “tokens” that are used to sign-in to other apps and web sites. For a brief period, the crooks could have used those tokens to gain access to any web site or app that you used Facebook as a means of signing into those sites. Bottom line, don’t use Facebook to sign up for other websites! Remember Facebook as well as Google is in the business of selling your profile to advertisers and others! Anytime you “like” something, that adds to your sell-able profile. c.  Border crossing:  Got turned around at the Tecate border crossing this morning. I drive a converted, restored 1945 Chevy bus that has passed through with no problems several times over the years. They said my registration identifies it as a passenger bus that can only go through Tijuana. No buses through Tecate. Beware of their strict zero tolerance, just like ours.

a.  Hi all, just a follow up on the house break-in this week.  The flashlight found on the beach was in fact one of the stolen ones from my house.  The police were extremely attentive to my initial call with three municipal officers and one ministerial officer coming to my house and taking a complete statement, photos, etc.  They asked me to relay to the gringo community that they will investigate crimes committed against us and prosecute to fullest extent of the law as long as we file the complaints and let them know what is going on.  Commandante Edwin cell (624) 165 4005, that’s his What’sApp number as well, is available 24/7 and will be more than happy to help us in our time of need.  The municipal police station phone number is 124-8103.  Policia Ministerial is 124-8436.  Again, if you have suspicions or suspect wrong doing no matter how small, he would like our community to know that they are here to serve us.  Alas, his English is not good.  Bring a translator!  Chris R

d.  ROAD REPORT HIGHWAY 5:  Driving through Constitution now. Yesterday Oct 15 Guerrero Negro to just south of Mulege great conditions. Day before just South of Puertecitos on Hwy 5 to Guerrero Negro good from south of Gonzaga Bay to Hwy 1 and on to Guerrero Negro. Day before that Yuma to just South of Puertecitos. Road really took hit from TS Rosa a bit before Puertecitos and between Gonzaga Bay. Wow! Semi-trucks and cars making it through but be careful.
