The proposal argues that there is no constitutional justification to exclude the mostly female workers from the social security system and that it is sexist.  Translation: You will need to figure out the social security system in Spanish, calculating what taxes you should pay on your once a week lady. The average foreigner will need to hire an accountant. If this law passes, and you don’t comply, your housekeeper is going to sue you right out of your flip flops, doesn’t matter how nicely you get along now. She will use the law against you. (1)  Methods to transfer US funds to Bancomer: Wells Fargo has a relationship with Bancomer and allows a customer to use their Express Send service for $5.00 per wire transfer. Set up is a hassle but after that you can send a max of $3,000 in increments of $1,500 each month. This can be done online. If you have a Charles Schwab brokerage account you get 4 (?) free wire transfers per month and can move dollars down that way. I am sure there are other cost effective ways.

a.  Wednesday DEC. 4. MY Wallet was stolen out of my purse as while I had breakfast at Mercado La Costa . It was not zippered shut, as it should have been and I noticed a tall, thin man walking around who seemed a bit nervous and out of place. I wish I had been more diligent, but have not had any issues here in Los Barriles in several years. After speaking with the gals at the vegetable market, the description of their suspect matches the man I noticed…. Folks… be aware! They are apparently working this area!!

b.  Purse stolen out of my car at the nursery just outside of town next to the pemex station. Turn my back to look at some plants and those few seconds someone had opened the door and took my belongings. Be on guard I let mine down for a moment and that’s all it took.

a.  I’ve had three lithium ion batteries expand and delaminate the glass from the case this year. I take excellent care of my toys, it can just happen. One was an Apple Ipod Touch and the other a high end Google Pixel phone. In those two cases, the companies replaced the units without question even though they were slightly out of warranty. The weather was perfect, the venue (La Playa Restaurant) was beautifully decorated by Evelyn, the wait staff bent over backwards to serve everyone promptly, the kitchen turned out wonderful food, the fashion designers put on a marvelous show and shared some fantastic clothing, and the jewelers showed us some amazing jewels! Thanks to all the businesses and individuals who donated gifts for the silent auction and raffle. People went home with some neat prizes and pretty new clothing.
